PostHeaderIcon The Implication Of Requiring Uniforms In Schools

Uniforms are considered the dress of the employed. As such, the uniforms used by some schools is considered to improve academic performance and behavior wherever they are used.

Professionals say that students who wear uniforms are also more likely to behave well and not get into fights as often. They say that removing the impetus of style competition among students also takes away the impetus to fight and this placates the student population.

Of course, not everyone has an equal fashion sense and those without are sometimes teased mercilessly by those who are more fashion conscious. This leads to depression, low self esteem and other problems. And of course fighting. Those who can’t afford the latest and greatest brand names just can’t cut it in some circles.

Schools that have a hard time with gang issues are also bettered because of uniform policies employed at the student level.

The use of uniforms sometimes improves the behavior of students outside school as well, as some schools enforce a policy whereby students are expected to be on their best behavior any time they are wearing school uniforms regardless of whether they are in school or not. This makes school uniforms a deterrent to bad behavior on the streets as well as at school.
