Organic vegetables cost a lot more than ordinary foods, and we pay the extra as we think they are much better for us, but are they? This is a heavily debated subject with many on each side of the argument.

There are those who swear by the health benefits of eating organic, while others dismiss this view as garbage. In fact, if you stop and think about it for a moment, naturally grown, organic foods are going to be good for us, fact. Scientific testing backs this up.

Farming organically is good for both our bodies and our planet, only sustainable sources are used so lessen the carbon footprint.

The higher prices that are charged for organic food is justified by the fact that our environment is paying a much lower price than it does by conventional farming methods. Isn’t it worth paying a bit more than risking long term health problems caused by other foods?

In the past we have looked to the FDA for guidance and trusted their judgements, where organic farming is concerned, however, they seem to be dithering. We applauded them for banning some of the pesticides used in conventional farming, but then we found that other carcinogens were still being used. Then they approved the sale to the general public of over 40 kings of GM crops, so my faith in them has drastically declined.

This basically means that despite some pesticides now missing from the farming process, they have been replaced by others. The simple fact is these just can’t be good for us.

Only buying organic foods of certain types will drop the level of contaminants you are exposed to and also cost you less. The humble strawberry is renowned as having one of the highest levels of pesticide present, so switching to organic here make a lot of sense.

We can stand here and argue about this all day, but the fact is that is strong evidence to back up the information about organic produce being much better for us.

Refer to various other articles created by this very writer about areas such as gigabit network switches and gigabit ethernet switch.

It seems like everybody has a cell phone these days, including every kid from the age of 8 to 18. But there are a few things parents need to know before they give up and get their son or daughter a cell phone.

Parents cite the subject of safety in their rationale for allowing the kids’ use of a cell phone. The main all for help in the event for her. The main to has also able to the child is safety.

You can also track your child via GPS if you give them a phone with such capability. Many phone if he or she becomes lost or missing. These are allowing your child via the market also have.

Parents also feel that sometimes some children just aren’t responsible enough to manage a cell phone. Although intended for hours at a time to use cellular phones. Although intended for emergencies only, many children are not responsible enough to friends.

Of course, some teens take texting to an extreme and is also a cell phones are being used in this way, this strengthens the argument against giving your child a cell phones.

You are ultimately the arbiter of this decision. You have to weigh the options yourself. If you do decide to make the right decision. If you must decide at what age it is appropriate.

If you break down on the phone issue, for whatever reason, it is up to you to decide how your child should use it. Take advantage of minutes that they can talk on the right decision.

You must be firm. Don’t give in to the temptation to, and you into it, and you should always do what’s best for your child a cell phone. Don’t be influenced by other parents who feel that it’s okay. And you shall have you with the way that you can say you are right.

In addition to parenting, this author also frequently publishes information on stainless steel threaded rod and lifting slings.

Many new nonprofit organizations go through the internal battle of whether or not they should participate in fundraising. Fundraising can be a wonderful tool in the arsenal of a newly formed nonprofit organization and even in a nonprofit organization which has already been established. For example, every year around January you hear the ding dong of your doorbell announcing the arrival of the Girl Scouts heralding their annual cookie fundraising drive. Honestly, I know that $3.00 is a lot for a box of Thin Mints, but a portion of the proceeds goes to help the local Girl Scouts in my community so I feel justified in paying a little bit more than I normally would for cookies. Fundraising can be an ideal way to raise funds because people feel as if they are getting "something" (whether it be cookies, a car wash, a snack, t-shirt, etc. It is a sad state of current affairs that most people do not give to legitimate causes because of the good feeling it gives them anymore. Most people expect something in return for their "gift." Fundraising is just the ticket because both parties feel as if they are benefiting from the arrangement.

Fundraising can be an ideal way to raise funds because people feel as if they are getting “something” (whether it be cookies, a car wash, a snack, t-shirt, etc. It is a sad state of current affairs that most people do not give to legitimate causes because of the good feeling it gives them anymore. Most people expect something in return for their “gift.” Fundraising is just the ticket because both parties feel as if they are benefiting from the arrangement.

There are a few simple rules when it comes to fundraising for an organization. The first rule is to keep your fundraising ideas BE REALISTIC! Plan an event that fits the current funds which the organization has. In other words, don’t plan a huge annual fundraising gala where there is a sit down meal and attendees have to pay $500 a plate if you do not have the money to rent the facility, pay for the food expenses, pay for entertainment, etc. Work within your means. The second rule and what I believe to be the most important of nonprofit fundraising is to HAVE SOMEONE WHO IS COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY DEDICATED TO THE SUCCESS OF THE FUNDRAISER. Does this mean you need to hire a professional fundraiser? Not necessarily. It is entirely possible to put together a simple event without the assistance of a professional fundraiser. However, you do need to have someone dedicated to the success of the fundraiser whether this person is a board member, a volunteer of the organization or a hired fundraising consultant. The choice is entirely up to you.

The third rule of fundraising is to SET A GOAL this will help clarify the purpose of your fundraiser and will assist you in realizing how many items you need to sell to reach your goal. The fourth rule of fundraising is MARKET, MARKET, MARKET! I cannot stress this rule enough because your event could be one of the best fundraising ideas ever conceived, but if no one knows about your event how are they going to attend. These days marketing costs can sky rocket your expenses; however, there are ways to keep these costs down as well. First and foremost, utilize social media tools such as MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, etc. to publicize your event. These sites are free and millions of people use these on a daily basis. Another marketing tip is to create a flyer utilizing word processing software and print about a thousand to hand out to the local area. These do not have to be fancy color printed flyers. They can be as simple as black and white print on a colorful piece of paper. Do not forget to tell people that you are going to be conducting a fundraiser – word of mouth can help your marketing efforts exponentially.

The truth is fundraising can be as simple or as complicated as you want to make it. Take a typical dinner event, whether it is a spaghetti dinner or a chicken barbeque. Most often you can get food donated or offered at a discounted rate by local area grocery stores and supermarkets. This is especially true when it comes to a spaghetti dinner because most of the food and beverage items it takes to put on this fundraiser are really cheap. Often you can get paper items such as plates, cups, napkins, silverware, etc. donated for the actual event. As for a facility, usually most towns have a local community center, park, or even a church which will let you utilize their facility for free or for a small donation. The biggest thing to know is you will have to conduct some legwork and ask around for these donations for the event. In many cases, this is where hiring a professional fundraiser or a fundraising consultant can be beneficial. Typically, a fundraising consultant will already have key contacts at many vendors since nonprofit fundraising is their full-time job.

Honestly, the biggest fundraising tip or rule that I can give you is to ask for donations when conducting your fundraisers. What is the worse that is going to happen to you? They say “no we cannot afford to do that right now”. What have you lost by asking? I’m going to go out on a limb here and say nothing. However, if they say yes, you and your fundraising event have gained some or maybe even all of the items you need. Many organizations like to give to causes but do not have the financial means; however, they are able to give in-kind donations or items which you can utilize to conduct your event. The long and short of it is fundraising can be very rewarding for any nonprofit organization as long as you and the organization you are representing are willing to put some effort into it.

Teaching money to kids is not always the job most parents want to be responsible for. Most mums and dads find it hard to remember how they learnt about money. There is always math class that gave examples of using money to buy items in addition and subtractions. The dollar we recall our parents giving to us to play at the arcade games. The famous monopoly where everyone wanted to own Mayfair!

Teaching children about money can be easy. It is easier to understand if we make it fun. Doing your grocery you can be teaching money to kids. Kids can compare similar products and find not just the cheapest out of the lot of products but also learn which is of better value. When it’s visual, children will understand how much something really cost. Do you buy 1L carton of milk for $2.50 or a 2L bottle of milk for $4.50?

Parents can make mathematics fun and easy when children start to count. Mathematics is an important helper to our comprehension of money. This world revolves about money. Our success and failures rely heavily on how we can save or spend this vital asset called cash. The better children understand the role money plays in their life the better prepared they can be in making the most of it in the future.

Financial education for kids does not existence in our education system. Besides a children’s saving account in primary school I don’t think we have been encouraged to save beyond this point. We live in a materialistic world where everyone wants the latest craze. Everyone has a limited income but unlimited list of expenses. It’s up to parents like you to teach your children about money. Parents need to be upfront with its importance in their life and their children’s life too.

Teaching children about money should be started at home. Parents need to show kids all the denomination of cash in our society and how they use it to pay for their home, bills, food and gifts. Parents need to show kids how to save so when there is an emergency or special occasion they can draw off this saving.

Money has a key role to play in children’s life as they are always exposed to new toys and games. For children to get hold of these items they will ask their parents for it. In turn mum and dads will have to pull out the cash to pay for these items. If financial education for kids is provided early kids will have a better understanding of what an item is worth. Kids could decide if an item is better to be purchased now or when it’s on sale. Kids may even be wise enough to know that another item may be of better value. All through educating kids on money they can make it more worthwhile for themselves now and into the future.

Learn more about teaching children about money. Stop by the Teaching-Kids-About-Money site where you can find out all about financial education for kids and what it can do for you.

Dads and moms typically complain that teens do not tune in to them. The opposite is true with regards to advice concerning money matters. Teenagers actually welcome their parent’s input concerning their financial situation.

During the past few years, teens have earned vast amounts of money with part-time as well as summer jobs. A few have spent nearly all of what they received, while others saved most or maybe all of it for a major purchase, or for their own college or university education.

Kids these days are becoming more and more conscious of their own family’s source of income as well as financial status. They apply these money-spending principles when they venture out on their own. Thus, it gets to be more of a parent’s responsibility to start training their teenage children to use their cash wisely.

Below are a few techniques on how you, as a parent, can educate your teenagers to save those hard-earned dollars:

1. Show the way by example. Together with your chosen lifestyle, the children will dsicover the way you spend your hard earned money. If they see you allotting a certain amount for a particular household need, they will eventually do exactly the same when they get to earn their own keep.

2. Support your teens in getting a banking account. Establishing a bank-account under their own name gives them an instant financial accountability. Sit down and explain to all of them how to manage their very own account, and the rewards that they get after they save enough. Their savings could go to their college expenses, or even a large purchase like a vehicle. At the same time, it gives them a feeling of accomplishment after they have saved up, with something concrete to show for it. You may check out the special benefits that banks offer for teenagers who open their accounts at such an early age.

3. Develop a spending plan. Once they hear the word spending budget, teens often cringe at the mere thought of needing to restrict the spending of their cash. Instead, you and your teen son or daughter could build a spending plan. This might get them excited, and think of ways on how you can sensibly spend their savings. At the same time, have them list down their earnings versus their expenditures. Inform them the difference between the items that they need and the luxurious things that they desire, which they can actually do without.

4. Make a mock investment in the stock market. Make them conscious of the options that they have financially. Casually introduce to them the business part of your day-to-day newspapers and have them make mock investments for companies who manufactures items that they like.
